Education and retraining
Higher education, a new specialty, short courses, vocational training and lifelong learning.
Learn more →We help veterans, women veterans, service members and their families find new opportunities through education, professional development, recovery, employment and entrepreneurship. We combine the potential of the university, the experience of specialists, the capacities of communities, employers and the international community.
Returning to civilian life and changing one’s professional path may require not a single decision but a sequence of steps. Some need a new specialty, others need to upgrade their qualifications. Some want to start their own business, and others want to combine study with recovery and family responsibilities.
We help you see the available opportunities, set priorities and find the right people and organizations. Our approach is an individual pathway, not one universal program for everyone.
You tell us what you are aiming for: study, a new profession, work, entrepreneurship, a consultation or partner assistance. We clarify the task and possible limitations.
We select suitable programs at KNUCA and partner institutions, help you find your way around the study format and, if needed, around the available partner recovery services.
We support the development of competencies, introductions to employers, résumé preparation, the search for an internship or the development of a business idea.
Learning does not end with a diploma: we keep in touch with the professional community, events, mentors and new opportunities.

Areas of the section →Led by Artem Honcharenko, PhD. Interdisciplinary knowledge for communities, education, construction and reconstruction.
About the working group →We are based at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) and are developing cooperation with regional educational institutions, communities, civil society organizations and businesses. Our goal is that access to knowledge and professional opportunities does not depend on where a person lives.
On the regional page you can choose your oblast or another administrative-territorial unit, learn about the formats of cooperation and get in touch about participation. A region’s presence in the catalog means coverage by the programs and the possibility of communication, and not necessarily a physical presence of the Institute.
24 oblasts, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea
Presence in a region means cooperation and access to programs, not necessarily a separate physical office.
The recovery of Ukraine is a shared challenge for educators, researchers, communities, charitable organizations, businesses and the international community. We invite universities, research centers, veterans’ organizations, donors and employers to join joint educational, rehabilitation and technology projects.
International cooperation →“Veterans are people with experience, competencies, leadership potential and the right to make their own choices. The task of education, the state, communities and business is to create conditions in which this potential can be realized. We do not limit ourselves to a one-time consultation. We are developing an environment in which a person can learn, recover, work, build their own business and influence the future of their community.”
Artem Honcharenko, PhD · Head of the Institute
In the news section we publish verified reports on educational programs, partnership development, project results, research and stories of professional fulfillment.
