Institute “Architecture of Resilience”: education, dignity, new opportunities
The Institute for Reintegration, Rehabilitation and Professional Development of Veterans “Architecture of Resilience” is a structural unit of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA). It was created to help veterans, service members and their families find educational, professional and rehabilitation opportunities and move from isolated requests to comprehensive solutions.
We proceed from a simple principle: a person should not have to search on their own for dozens of unconnected programs. They should have a clear entry point, consultation and the opportunity to build their own trajectory, taking into account life experience, health, accessibility, education, professional ambitions and family situation.
Our mission
To create accessible and practical opportunities for education, reintegration, professional development and public participation for veterans and their families through partnership among universities, communities, employers, specialists and the international community.
Our vision
A Ukraine in which male and female veterans can not only receive support after service, but also independently choose their professional future, acquire new competencies, start businesses, and take part in community governance, research and the rebuilding of the country.
Our principles
Respect for experience
Veteran experience is not grounds for stereotypes, but an important part of a person’s identity and professional potential.
Individual pathway
We do not impose identical solutions on people with different goals.
Accessibility
We strive to take physical, digital, social, financial and organizational barriers into account.
Partnership
We build cooperation among education, employers, the civil society sector and specialists.
Evidence-based approach
We rely on research, needs assessment and program results.
Long-term focus
What matters is not only the number of events but also people’s education, employment, independence and quality of life after taking part.
Why we are based at KNUCA
The university environment brings together science, modern engineering competencies, education and links with professional markets. Being based at KNUCA allows the Institute to develop trajectories in architecture, construction, digital technologies, management, ecology, barrier-free design and post-war reconstruction, and to expand them through educational partners.
Who we help
Our opportunities are addressed to veterans, serving defenders, family members, people affected by the war, and internally displaced persons. A separate area is cooperation with educational institutions, communities, employers and specialists who want to create new opportunities for these groups.
What exactly the Institute does
We provide advice on educational areas and admission options; help determine needs and study options; coordinate cooperation with partner specialists in rehabilitation and social support; promote career guidance; and develop research, events and partnership projects. We do not replace admissions committees, medical institutions or employers: each provides its services within its own competence and authority.
National and international model
We physically work at KNUCA in Kyiv and aim to ensure remote accessibility of consultations and programs for people from different regions of Ukraine. We develop international cooperation through joint educational programs, research, exchange of experience, support for innovation and investment in human capital.
