Science that translates into practical solutions
A systematic veterans policy needs not only goodwill but also accurate data, interdisciplinary research, effectiveness evaluation and responsible implementation. We are developing scientific and analytical areas capable of helping universities, communities, employers and partners make better-informed decisions.
Priority research areas
Human capital and professional reintegration
How do competencies transform after service? Which educational models increase the chances of professional fulfilment?
Education for veterans and their families
Barriers to admission, effectiveness of flexible formats, teacher training, quality of support, lifelong learning.
Veterans policy and community governance
Models of service coordination, local capacity, needs and accessibility of services.
Barrier-free and universal design
Accessibility of universities, workplaces, infrastructure and digital products.
Rehabilitation and return to active life
Organisational models of cross-sector support and assessment of non-physical barriers; medical research — only with proper ethical and professional procedures.
Sustainable development and reconstruction
Environmental safety, climate risks, green construction, resilient infrastructure.
Digitalisation, AI and technology transfer
Data for management decisions, analytical tools, information security and the transfer of technologies into practical projects.
From question to result
We view research as a sequence: problem formulation → methodology → data collection and protection → analysis → expert review → recommendations → piloting → impact evaluation. Public conclusions must explain their limitations and sources rather than being presented as universal recipes.
For researchers and students
We invite you to interdisciplinary discussions, research seminars, joint publications, conferences and the preparation of grant applications. We pay particular attention to the participation of veterans as research authors, experts, team members and representatives of groups whose experience must be properly represented.
International research
A comparative analysis of the experience of countries with long-standing veterans programmes can help adapt effective approaches to the Ukrainian context. We are open to academic consortia, joint research and exchange programmes — with due attention to ethics, local context and data protection.
Research school — a prospective module
A separate space is planned for young researchers, veteran scholars, postgraduate students and practitioners. Possible formats: research groups, mentoring, methodological seminars, data analysis training, joint publications and grant-writing schools. The exact enrolment conditions will be published after the programme is approved.
